Corporate Social Responsibility

In our business the community is not just another stakeholder but rather the very reason of its existence

Corporate Social Responsibility

ASIAN is strongly committed to its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, not just because it is required to, but also because we at ASIAN firmly believe that to conduct operations successfully, anywhere in the world, it is important to involve the locals and give back to them, to help in their development too. That is why ASIAN employs over thousands of people from local communities all around our worksites, for its seismic operations. Moreover, in addition to our QHSE commitments of ensuring minimum negative impact of our operations on the environment and the locals, as part of our CSR initiatives, we also try to work with the local communities to develop them in a manner that they are comfortable with, with the aim of increasing their overall wellbeing and quality of life.

Some of the CSR initiatives that ASIAN has undertaken are as follows:

  • ASIAN has built roads and schools in nearly all our areas of operation, to increase connectivity not just for our operations, but also for the local communities even after our projects end. This is an important part of building a lasting relationship with local communities and being involved on a grass-root level.
  • ASIAN has helped bring light to villages in several remote areas of Tripura, India, by not only donating solar lamps to the villagers, but also building the necessary additional supporting infrastructure and training the villagers in their operation and maintenance. Light can be a very empowering step for rural populations, allowing children to study at night and families to live without harmful, smoky, wick-based lamps inside their homes.
  • ASIAN has set up health check-up camps and provided medication to several local communities in Tripura, India. In several parts of India, healthcare can be woefully lacking, and ASIAN is committed to help local communities find the means and find access to quality healthcare.
  • ASIAN has built barracks for the army and state police, close to our worksites in Arunachal Pradesh, India. ASIAN is committed to working with the Indian army because we feel that we have a strong ethical responsibility towards those who risk their lives each day to defend our lives and sovereignty.
